Considerations for Drifting Snow

BS 6399 : Part 3 1988 defines the snow load parameters on roofs from snow drifting against vertical obstructions and in valleys. The high design loads determined by the code can be accommodated by either closing the Purlin spacing in the relevant area or by selecting Purlin sections appropriate to the load conditions.
